Lönne offers energy saving permanent magnet motors. We are one of few distributors in the world who can present a complete portfolio of energy efficient motors. In general, the energy a motor uses represents 95 percent of the actual cost of the motor. Thus, only 5 percent of the amount of money you invest in a motor is spend on the actual purchase and installation. This makes the investment in an energy efficient motor considerably lucrative. Furthermore, it is estimated that 1.5 billion Euros could be saved worldwide, if only permanent magnet motor as our ECOiPM series were used.

Are you looking for one of the most energy efficient permanent magnet motors available? At Lönne we offer permanent magnet motors that apply to high energy standard classes such as IE3 and IE4. Besides the high performance, as well as the high value compared to the initial expenses, our permanent magnet motors provides a wide range of other benefits.
A very high reliability and the environmental benefits throughout the motor’s lifetime are some of the advantages of a permanent magnet motor. Furthermore, it fits perfectly into all drive concepts and it can be used for more than 90 percent of all types of applications in usage worldwide. Thereby, mechanical engineers, system operators and especially the environment benefits from the permanent magnet motors.
The ECOiPM permanent magnet motor from Lönne is extremely energy efficient compared to induction motors. In general, heat causes the highest energy loss in a motor. One of the most striking differences between an AC induction motor and a ECOiPM engine is the fact that there is no copper loss in the rotor in an ECOiPM motor.
This is possible because the rotor is made of magnets while the stator is the only current carrying part. Therefore, the copper loss in a permanent magnet motor like the ECOiPM is about half the loss of a standard AC induction motor. There can be a significant loss of induction motors - especially as the engine size, power and amperage increases.
The efficiency of a motor is usually determined by the workloads all though motor efficiency is a product of the load, the nominal performance and the speed. This is crucial when considering the differences between standard induction motors and a permanent magnet motor/engine ECOiPM as the losses off an ECOiPM engine are almost constant regardless of the speed.
Lönne and the manufacturer Yaskawa has made ??comparative measurements between the consumption of a standard induction motor and an ECOiPM engine. Our results conclude that significant energy savings are produced by a permanent magnet motor compared to an average induction - especially at low speeds.
